The type and frequency of cleaning required to keep your
floor looking new will vary from home to home. By following these few steps, your flooring
should maintain its appearance for many years to come:
- Sweep or vacuum your laminate flooring at least once a week.
- Remove any wet spills immediately to avoid liquid penetration into the
seams.
- Remove sand or abrasive spills immediately to avoid scratching.
- Heel marks can be removed with a moist cloth.
- Heavy soiling and stubborn stains (ex. paint) can be removed with
acetone or an alcohol-based solvent.
- Damp mop your floor with a solution of QUICKSTYLE laminate floor cleaner
on a regular basis (avoid excess water accumulation).
AROUND THE HOME ...
- Lay dirt absorbing mats in heavy traffic areas (i.e. entrances and in
front of major appliances).
- Use felt tips on all furniture legs and avoid dragging unprotected
furniture on the flooring.
- Replace all hard plastic or metal rollers on furniture or appliances
with soft rubber rollers. In addition, if using chairs with rollers,
ensure placement of floor mats for use with laminate floors. Keep
mat and area under chair clean. Dirt, sand, and similar debris, in
conjunction with the rotating action of the wheels, is very abrasive and
could scratch any surface.
- When artificially heating a room, temperature should not exceed 72 to 78oF
and air humidity should be approx. 50 - 60% (use a humidifier if necessary).
